“Is the maroon lehenga free on the 14th?”
At Cloud Closet, answering that meant checking a spreadsheet, the dry cleaner and two WhatsApp chats. With 536 outfits and pieces of jewellery on rent, the founder spent half her day on follow-ups. Here’s how one dashboard replaced them.

The closet
536 pieces. Each one with its own calendar.
Bridal lehengas, sharara sets and jewellery, each booked, dispatched, cleaned and checked before it goes out again.

The problem
The closet had outgrown the spreadsheet.
Cloud Closet rents designer lehengas, outfits and jewellery to brides and wedding guests in Mumbai. Every piece goes out, comes back, gets cleaned and goes out again. All of it was tracked on Excel and WhatsApp.
The double-booked lehenga
One outfit promised to two brides for the same weekend. Someone gets a refund, an apology, and then she tells her friends.
One clash ≈ ₹15,000 lost + a client for life
Deposits floating in limbo
Refunds promised “after quality check”, then lost in chat history. No record of what came back when.
₹2–4 lakh typically sitting untracked at any time
Garments stuck at the dry cleaner
A piece comes back, goes out for cleaning, and vanishes from everyone’s memory until the next bride asks for it.
8–10 items “unaccounted for” is the studio norm
Month-end vendor maths
Consignment pieces, revenue shares and service charges, all reconciled by hand and argued over by message.
10–12 hours of owner time, every month
No one could say which lehenga was on the rack and which was at the dry cleaner. Every time a bride asked, we had to go and look.
What we did
We followed one lehenga from booking to rack.
Enquiry, trial, deposit, dispatch, return, dry cleaning, quality check, refund. We mapped every step the studio already followed, then built the system around it.

What we built
One system for the studio. On the phone in the trial room.
The full system runs on desktop, tablet and mobile, so staff can book an outfit while the bride is still trying it on. Clients get invoices and updates on WhatsApp.

“Before this system, half my day went into WhatsApp follow-ups. Now I open one dashboard and know exactly which outfit is where, and which deposit is due back.”
