Questions jewellers ask us
Does the quotation use the day’s gold rate?
Yes. Set the rate each morning and every new quotation uses it, with the time of the rate shown on the quotation.
Can we charge making by percentage or per gram?
Yes. Making charges can be set as a percentage or per gram for each design or category.
How does metal accounting with karigars work?
Gold issued on each job card is recorded, then finished weight and scrap are recorded on return. Loss is worked out and checked against the limit you set for each karigar or process.
Can we price diamonds by carat, colour and clarity?
Yes. Set rates per carat for each colour and clarity grade, and solitaires separately. Quotations work out diamond value from the design’s carat weight and the grade the customer picks.
Can we track diamonds as well as gold?
Yes. Diamonds and other stones are issued and returned on the job card by count and carat, and certificate numbers such as IGI or GIA are kept against each piece and printed on the invoice.
Do invoices include HUID and GST?
Yes. Invoices carry purity, weights and HUID for each piece, with GST worked out and any advance adjusted.
Can karigars update job cards themselves?
If you want them to. The workshop app lets each karigar see their queue and move a job to the next stage.
Can we keep separate financial years?
Yes. Records are kept by financial year, so reports and invoices stay in the right year.
